The Arkansas Department of Health emphasizes a preventative approach to Infectious Diseases in efforts to prevent, reduce, and eventually eliminate illness and deaths due to HIV, AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). ADH strives to ensure that an up-to-date continuum of care services is available to all HIV-infected persons living in Arkansas.

Mission
The Arkansas Department of Health and community partners seek to protect the health of the public and all Arkansans in the mission to reduce and eliminate Infectious Diseases. ADH and community partners provide continuous efforts to prevent, treat, and provide access to quality care, as well as control and monitor the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
