Protective Health Codes
The Arkansas Department of Health employs/certifies inspectors responsible for performing inspections in designated areas of the state and licenses plumbers, plumbing inspectors, gas fitters, and mechanical inspectors.
Both the Arkansas Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Board and the State Committee of Plumbing Examiners established and administer the Arkansas Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fuel Gas Codes, which represents the minimum standards for installation, alteration, and repair of mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems within the State of Arkansas.
Our Mission
To protect and serve the citizens of Arkansas by establishing standards for design, proper installation, and inspection of plumbing, natural gas, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and setting minimum qualification requirements for persons installing such systems.
