Protective Health Codes

The Arkansas Department of Health employs/certifies inspectors responsible for performing inspections in designated areas of the state and licenses plumbers, plumbing inspectors, and gas fitters.

The State Committee of Plumbing Examiners established and administered the Arkansas Plumbing, and Fuel Gas Codes, which represent the minimum standards for installation, alteration, and repair of plumbing and natural gas equipment and systems within the State of Arkansas.

Our Mission

To protect and serve the citizens of Arkansas by establishing standards for design, proper installation, and inspection of plumbing, and natural gas, and setting minimum qualification requirements for persons installing such systems.
