Lead-Based Paint Program

Our Purpose

Mandated during the 2011 Arkansas Legislative Session and effective July 1, 2011, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) adopted and now oversees the Arkansas Lead-Based Paint-Hazard Regulation, which sets forth certification, licensing, and training requirements for those persons and firms who perform lead-based paint abatement activities and training in the state of Arkansas. The federal U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) retains oversight authority over ADH’s Lead-Based Paint Program.
