Licensure By Endorsement

Welcome to Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN). The information contained herein is designed to assist you with information you need to begin the application process. Read the instructions and provide all required documentation. ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

ENDORSEMENT is the process of obtaining a nursing license in a U.S. jurisdiction other than the jurisdiction of original licensure.

The first step in application submission is to create an account in the Arkansas Nurse Portal.

Once you have created your Nurse Portal account, sign in to your Nurse Portal account to submit an application. Once you have submitted an application, you may monitor the status of your application by accessing your Nurse Portal account and clicking on view status.

Disclaimer:

The ASBN may deny licensure to candidates who have had a license revoked, suspended, or placed on probation and not reinstated in other jurisdictions. The ASBN may also deny licensure to candidates who have been convicted of a crime.

Licensure Application For Endorcement Information

For more information about a specific application, click on the respective application name listed below.

LPN Endorsement Application Information 
Licensure by endorsement application for the nurse applicant who has an LPN/LVN license in another state and is applying for a license in Arkansas as LPN/LVN; has no previous Arkansas LPN license.

RN Endorsement Application Information 
Licensure by endorsement application for the nurse applicant who has an RN license in another state and is applying for a license in Arkansas as an RN; has no previous Arkansas RN license.

RN Internationally Educated Endorsement Application Information 
Licensure by endorsement application for applicants educated outside the United States, its’ territories, or Canada.  The applicant has an RN license in another state and is applying for a license in Arkansas as an RN; has no previous Arkansas RN license.

Licensed Psychiatric Technician Nurse (LPTN) Endorsement Application Information 
Licensure by endorsement application for the nurse applicant who has an LPTN license in another state and is applying for a license in Arkansas for the same license type; has no previous Arkansas LPTN license.  LPTN applicants accepted from Kansas and California only.
