The Arkansas Rural Health Primary Care Office (PCO) plays a vital role in improving access to primary healthcare services in underserved areas. The office assesses local health care needs by supporting the designation of Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and promoting workforce programs that help recruit and retain healthcare providers, as well as facilitate the placement of clinicians in communities where they are most needed to ensure more access to primary care.
