Third Annual Month of May (MOM) Block Party offers free resources, food trucks, and connections.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Health invites Central Arkansas families to kick off
Women’s Health Month at the third annual Month of May (MOM) Block Party. The free community expo will
connect women, expecting moms, and families with essential support services.

Held on the lawn in front of War Memorial Stadium, the event will take place on Wednesday, May 6. There
will be a brief program and announcement from 10 to 10:30 a.m., followed by an open expo until 1 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public.

More than 50 local and statewide organizations will be on-site with health information, navigation support,
and community resources covering maternal and infant health, pediatric care, nutrition, insurance
coverage, mental health support, and more.

“Women’s health is foundational to strong families and communities,” said Dr. Kay Chandler, Arkansas
Surgeon General. “This event is about meeting people where they are, making connections, and helping
families better understand the resources available to support their health and well-being.”

Beyond the expo booths, a live DJ will set the festive tone, and the block party will feature live
demonstrations on healthy cooking and mindfulness, along with other activities, rounding out the event’s
programming. Food trucks will be on site.

“This is about bringing resources together in one place and making it easier for families to access the
support they need,” Chandler said. “When people can connect directly with trusted organizations in a
welcoming setting, it builds confidence and helps strengthen long-term health outcomes.”

The Block Party is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. Free on-site parking is available at War
Memorial Stadium.
