Strategic Committee for Maternal Health sends report detailing recommendations to Gov. Sanders

LITTLE ROCK – The Strategic Committee for Maternal Health has delivered a report to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders outlining recommended new policies, programs, and approaches aimed at improving health outcomes for pregnant women, new moms, and babies, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) and the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced today. Sanders established the Committee and initiated a six-month timeline to consider potential reforms when she signed the Executive Order to Support Moms, Protect Babies, and Improve Maternal Health on March 6, 2024. 9th Biennial Minority Health Summit Marks 35 Years of Progress, Set for April 17

Little Rock, Ark. – On Friday, April 17, 2026, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) Minority Health Commission will host its 9th Biennial Minority Health Summit from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Little Rock Event Center, 120 N. Main Street. This year’s theme is “A Bridge to Care: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Heart Health in Minority Arkansans,” featuring a lineup of local, state, and national leaders.
